Samsung Galaxy S2 beats the iPhone 4 in the United Kingdom! Samsung seems to have found the smartphone magic formula with its Galaxy S2 phone that packs a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, and 8-megapixel camera into its slimline chassis. Those specs have made it more popular than Apple’s flagship iPhone 4 in the UK according to uSwitch Mobile Tracker.
With Samsung selling 5 million Galaxy S2s in its first 85 days, and cost on contract nearly a third less than its underpowered by comparison rival – the iPhone 4. Android has overtaken iOS as the fastest selling smartphone OS worldwide, but the software is used on hundreds of different phones by many different manufacturers – these statistics show that it can compete with Apple on a head-to-head basis as well.
The iPhone 4 has been on sale for over a year now, so it will be interesting to see how the Galaxy S2 stacks up against the future iPhone 5 (or iPhone 4S) rumoured to be released in the next couple of months.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 looks very good and since it's an Android phone, you can install tons of cool and useful apps to it. Now if only I can get somebody to give me one.

It certainly looks very similar to the iPhone... I own an iPhone 3GS, but I am waiting for the iPhone 5 before deciding on an upgrade. The Samsung Galaxy's 8MP camera is truly enticing! :D
ReplyDeletea wise decision indeed to wait for the iPhone 5, you can then see how does it compare with the Galaxy S2 =)
ReplyDeleteMaybe Yes in United Kingdom, but I think in the Philippines they still love iPhone 4 even thou its so expensive here. hehehe.
ReplyDeleteyes maybe in the UK for now, but it's also a sign that Apple does not dominate the major markets anymore... who knows, maybe an Asian brand will dominate the smartphones market in the future =)
