I saw this in the news last night while in a bus going to work. I found the picture of this young girl holding the Philippine flag while wading through the tormenting flood a midst heavy rain very striking. The girl never let the national flag touch the ground and was holding it as if it's a piece of priceless possession that she has.
So I wonder: Who is this girl that saved the Philippine flag?
As it turned out, the girl is a 12-year old student named Janella Lelis and the heroic deed happened during the onslaught of Tropical Storm Juaning in Albay.
The picture above depicts a picture of true patriotism!
Despite her young age, she possesses the virtue of heroism, not caring for herself, being brave enough to save the Philippine National Flag.
Janella Lelis should be emulated by many, doing a simple innocent act that turned out to be great not asking for anything in return is rarely seen nowadays.
Janella Lelis is someone we should really be proud of!
